Everything is Something

I don’t know what triggered me to think about it, but for some reason it got me all irritated. You know one thing that irks me? I damn hate it when during interviews, interviewers, particularly the Philippine showbiz icon indicated in the title of this blog, have this habit of asking questions using the word "isang" to refer to the interviewee.

Let me give an example: "At this point in your career, ano pa bang maaasahan namin sa ISANG John Prats?"

Also: "Hindi mapagkakaila na maraming nanliligaw sa iyo ngayon. Ano nga ba ang nagpapatibok ng puso ng ISANG Shaina Magdayao?"

Or: "Ikaw ang tugatog ng pag-arte sa pinilakang tabing. Wala nang hihigit pa sa ISANG Mikey Arroyo."

I don’t know why it pisses me off so much. I have no idea why I even thought of it. But good lord, apparently, yon ang nagpapainit sa ulo ng isang Moe Villamor.
